When it comes to staying on trend this spring/summer the overall mood may be feminine – but there’s no escaping masculine styling with printed suits, sports-luxe silhouettes and tuxedo jackets all dominating must-have lists. Pulling through from A/W, that oh-so-cool ‘borrowed from the boys’ vibe is still leader of the pack, but channelling this boy-meets-girl trend doesn’t mean you have to surrender your fashion femininity.
How to Wear it
The key to S/S’13 dressing is to be fashionably brave. Co-ordinate matching prints with a more-is-more attitude and look for suits with op-art effect or graphic floral adornment. The way to wear colour this season is undoubtably head-to-toe, so look for candy coloured cigarette pants and colour-block blazers. Tone it down for workwear looks with cropped suit pants in pale grey, soft blue or neutral cream hues and pair with clean-cut white shirts or subtly see-through pastel print blouses.
Where to Get it
Remember, when it comes to suiting up one thing is for sure – steer clear from those ’80s-style power dressing shoulder pads, because the modernist girl isn’t wearing a suit to get ahead, just to look damn hot.
